About Us

At Temprite, we have one goal when we create our products: to design and manufacture the most efficient refrigeration components available anywhere. We know that, with refrigeration design, the sum of the components equals the overall efficiency of the system. When you specify Temprite products, you know you're getting a product designed and engineered to enhance the performance of the total system.

About Us
Temprite is the leader in creating innovative and energy-efficient products for the commercial, industrial, retail, scientific refrigeration and refrigerant reclaim/recovery industries.

Temprite History
Our company was founded in 1924, in Birmingham, Michigan, and early Temprite products included beer coolers and dispensing valves for soda fountains and water coolers. But the Temprite reputation for innovation arose when the company originated some of the earliest components devised for the refrigeration industry, including the refrigeration oil separator in its present conventional configuration.

In 1973, The Eaton Corporation purchased Temprite and chose to sell the oil separator and the carbonator lines to Alco Dispensing. The Schmidt family bought the oil separator line from Alco in 1985, with the vision of rejuvenating the product and restoring the luster to the Temprite name. Their first step was to move the Temprite Company to Chicago, its present home.

First High-Efficiency Coalescent Oil Separator
Temprite introduced the first commercially available high-efficiency coalescent oil separator in 1988. The arrival of the Temprite 900 Series coalescent oil separator fundamentally strengthened the viability of the biological freezer industry and cryo-mechanical refrigeration applications.

More details available in the Emerson Report.

First Refrigerant Reclaim/Recovery Units

In 1991, recognizing the growing need for higher energy efficiency and lower carbon emissions, coupled with the strictures of the Montreal Protocols coming into effect, Temprite designed the first components for refrigerant reclaim/recovery units.

Innovation for Today: the 920/R and 130 Series
The Temprite legacy of innovation continues. Temprite's energy-efficient 920/R Series coalescent oil separators save energy while lowering energy costs and reducing carbon emissions. The 920/R Series is designed to make refrigeration systems clean and green.

As industry leader, Temprite developed the 130 Series for CO2 refrigeration, another clean and green innovation. The 130 Series of products meet all regulatory requirements of the European Pressure Equipment Directive.

Temprite's Commitment to Customers
Temprite will provide the highest quality refrigeration component products available, as well as the best operational specifications available, worldwide.
